When it comes to choosing the perfect driver for you, the sheer choice can be overwhelming and it’s difficult to know where to start. What makes it easier is to find out more about what golfers just like you are adding to their golf bag. Our 2022 list of best-selling drivers was relied upon by countless golfclubs4cash customers who were looking for guidance, and it still is.
But as we know, things move quickly in golf, clubs come in and out of favour, and every year new drivers hit the second hand golf club market that are highly sought after by amateur and professional golfers. 2023 has seen lots of change in the golfing world (and the world at large!) and as we know, things never stay still. So, with all of that in mind, it’s about time that we brought you up to date on our best-selling second hand drivers of 2023 then, isn’t it?
This year, we’re name-dropping some big brands that you know and love, as well as a few that you may not have had the chance to get to know. The great news is that because we carry such a huge range of used golf clubs and accessories at our stores in Warrington and Edinburgh, you can get your hands on the driver of your dreams whether you’re shopping in person or from our online store.
This year we’re not just going to tell you all about our best-selling drivers, but we’re also going to sort them by golf brand (because we know you’ve all got your favourites!). So let’s uncover the biggest hitters of 2023 by brand, based on our total driver sales across the year. In no particular order, here we go…
It’ll come as no surprise to you that of all the brands, used TaylorMade drivers are one of the most commonly asked about golf drivers. And this year, we’ve got quite the selection for you. TaylorMade’s mission, established back in 1979, is - quite simply - ‘to create the best-performing golf products in the world’. And they certainly do not disappoint.
TaylorMade’s M6 is a driver that’s been in hot demand all year. Offering better ball speeds than its predecessor the M4, it’s a stable all-rounder that suits a variety of skill levels. TaylorMade’s SIM 2 Max D, with its standout draw bias feature, has been another firm favourite with our customers this year - largely because of its slice-fighting capabilities. The SIM 2 Max D is very forgiving and high-launching, fairly high-spinning, and our customers are loving its work. Just some of the reasons why the SIM 2 topped our 2022 list of most popular drivers!
We’re not done with TaylorMade yet, because another of our best-selling drivers hails from the same brand. A list of our most popular drivers simply wouldn’t be complete without mention of the TaylorMade Stealth driver. This hugely impressive all-rounder stands up well against the SIM and SIM 2, and delivering strong ball flight (especially in wind) and striking looks, it’s one of the most eye-catching drivers on the course.
So, as you can see, when it comes to the most popular drivers of 2023, TaylorMade’s choice of offerings means it’s definitely one of our best-selling used driver brands. But there are other brands which rival TaylorMade in the popularity stakes too, so let’s check them out.
PING has performed very well when it comes to drivers this year, with more and more customers coming to us looking to get their hands on the PING driver of their dreams. First up, the enduring PING G10 driver takes some beating. With an increased MOI, this is a driver that delivers distance and forgiveness in equal measures. Not to be outdone, the PING G425 Max Driver is a strong contender, commonly regarded as one of the most consistent and easiest-to-hit drivers available on the market.
Finally, the PING G410 SFT Driver has also been on many of our customers’ wish lists this year. With a fixed weight for a consistently straight ball flight, a high MOI and fast ball speed, it’s easy to see why this is such a continuous hit with our customers.
Callaway has put in a very strong performance this year when it comes to drivers, with four of its best-known models making an appearance in our best-sellers list. It was a brand that featured highly on our 2022 list of most popular drivers, with the Callaway Mavrik coming in at number five, and the Epic Speed Driver peaking at number two.
We’re pleased to say that both models have maintained their status as some of our best-selling drivers of 2023, but they’ve got stiff competition from the Callaway Rogue ST Max driver which has been in high demand throughout 2023. We’ve also noticed a spike in customers looking for the 2016 Callaway XR Pro 16 driver, too.
A list of 2023’s best-selling drivers wouldn’t be complete without mention of Srixon. It’s a brand that doesn’t always get the recognition that it deserves, but always in high demand, Srixon drivers are doing their best to get the brand noticed. And let’s face it, if it’s good enough for the likes of Shane Lowry, Hideki Matsuyama and Brooks Koepka, then it’s certainly good enough for us. The Srixon Z 565 has sold very well this year, as has the Srixon ZX5 driver.
Customers are also loving the Srixon ZX-7 driver - they’re literally flying off the shelves right now. With great speed and accuracy, it’s an impressive club, and while it may not be the cheapest Srixon driver on the market, it offers extremely good value when compared to many of the leading brands’ top drivers.
Next up, it’s time to shine the spotlight on Cobra Golf. Let’s take a closer look at the range of Cobra drivers to see which are the most popular models of 2023. The Cobra King F8 driver takes some beating, as does the Cobra LTDx Max. But the Cobra King Radspeed is still leading the field. The Radspeed gives longer carries than older versions. Featuring a moveable weight, extra forgiveness and a lower spin, it’s a fantastic mid-ranger choice that suits golfers of all abilities.
Well, if there is a big name in drivers that’s been conspicuous by its absence so far in our list of best-selling drivers in 2023, then it has to be Titleist.
You can rely on a Titleist driver to get you off the tee in style, and this year it’s all about the TSR family. The Titleist TSR2 has been in constant demand this year with its sleek looks and forgiveness in spades. Delivering fast ball speeds, consistency and distance, the impressive 460cc clubhead is a force to be reckoned with. The Titleist TSR3 driver follows close behind, with its premium looks and powerful performance, as does the stunning Titleist TSR1 with its effortless swing and high-launching drive.
Then of course we have the adjustable, titanium-made Titleist 917 D2 driver, which was a firm favourite in 2022, coming in at number seven on our list. This year it hangs onto its title, and its popularity is showing no signs of slowing.
So that’s all the big brands covered, but as usual there are always a few lesser-known brands that are holding their own against the big boys when it comes to best-selling golf drivers. Wilson’s Staff D9 driver is one that we’re often being asked for, along with the PXG Gen4 driver (both the 0811 and the 0311). And Mizuno gets a look in too, with the Mizuno ST-Z 220 being its most commonly bought driver in 2023.
So that’s a wrap… our best-selling list of drivers for 2023 is complete. Is your favourite on there, or is there a model that you think our customers have overlooked? We’d love to know what’s surprised you and which model you’re thinking about treating yourself to next.

Another name that’s synonymous with professional golfers is PING Golf. Having turned 60 years old in 2019, it’s an enduring golf brand that has come a long way from its humble beginnings out of a garage in California. It’s known for its big-hitting drivers among other things - in fact, Forbes declared the PING G430 Max the best driver of 2023. But its putters are also hugely popular and the PING Karsten putter made it to the very top of our best-selling putters list!

You weren’t expecting a list of best-selling golfing brands without TaylorMade Golf putting in an appearance, were you? So there we have it - five very worthy winners when it comes to the best-selling golfing brands of 2023. Congratulations to TaylorMade, which has pipped all the others to the post to be crowned our best-selling brand of 2023. Srixon is owned by SRI Sports Ltd (a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd), who in 2017 also acquired Cleveland Golf. SRI Sports also owns Dunlop Sports, under which umbrella sits Srixon, Cleveland, XXIO, and Dunlop Racket Sports. Srixon is a registered trademark of Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd.
People often wonder where the name Srixon originates from. Well, the SRI is from SRI Sports Ltd, and the ‘on’ is said to be short for ‘onwards’. The ‘x’ in the middle just serves as a bridge between the two!
Despite its Japanese origins, Srixon is now based in Huntington Beach, California. But earlier in 2023 it was announced that the European subsidiary of the Srixon group will be headquartered in Ash Vale, Southwest London, to pursue the growth of Srixon, Cleveland Golf and XXIO. So we’re expecting to see a lot more of these brands in the coming months, years and decades as they build their European profile further.
It’s not uncommon to spot Srixon golf balls in play at all the major tournaments, and beyond this, you’ll see some big names playing with Srixon golf clubs and accessories. Tour players that have been linked to Srixon over the years include 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry, Hannah Green, Hideki Matsuyama, Graeme McDowell and Ryan Fox.
Srixon designs and manufactures a full range of golf clubs, from drivers and fairways through to irons and hybrids. The brand is less well-known for its wedges and putters, with Cleveland covering this end of the market more comprehensively. In particular, Srixon’s ZX4 irons are known to be one of the most forgiving sets of irons on the market, and they’re a firm favourite with golfclubs4cash customers.
With quality materials and precision engineering coming as standard, Srixon is a great choice for mid to high handicappers looking to finesse their game. It is also a fantastic choice for lower handicappers who are looking for extra forgiveness and increased distance.
Browse our entire range of great quality used Srixon golf clubs and accessories today, and get in touch if you have any questions or want to talk your choices through with a professional - we’re always happy to help!
We all obsess over which golf clubs to carry in our golf bags, but your choice of grip can be just as important, as is making sure they’re kept in good condition and replaced when they’re past their best. Golf club grips are an often-undervalued consideration for your game, yet they directly influence feel, comfort and control through your golf swing, which can give you the edge over your competitors.
Golf Pride must be one of the best-known golf club grip manufacturers in the world, and, founded in 1953, it’s a brand with decades of specialist knowledge and innovation behind it.
The brand was one of the early pioneers of the rubber golf grip, which revolutionised how golfers handle their clubs, and Golf Pride grips are a regular sight on the PGA Tour and other high-profile golf championships.
Golf Pride manufactures a wide range of golf grips to suit different preferences, and in this list we’ll detail some of the most widely bought models:
Golf Pride… err… prides itself on its constant innovation. They continuously invest in advanced grip technology, introducing features such as Align technology which encourages a more consistent hand placement. The team at Golf Pride are always looking for ways to improve their grips’ performance in different weather conditions and boost durability too.
The Golf Pride golf grip range is designed to be tailored to your personal preferences for both comfort and control. Whether it’s experimenting with different grip sizes and textures to complement your playing style, or you have a particular colour preference, you’re sure to find the perfect golf grip for you.

If you’re tempted to go for the usual pair of Christmas socks and some sorry-looking chocolates, stop right there and fore-get about it, Scrooge! Let’s get a little more creative. Our ultimate guide to golf-themed gifts will give you plenty of interesting Christmas shopping ideas to put lots of smiles on lots of faces. We guarantee it’s the hole package, and yule just love it. (We did warn you about the puns).
If you’re on a limited budget, then check out our article packed with golfing gifts on a budget for plenty of ideas and inspiration. But in this article, we’re going to throw caution to the wind and assume that you might have a bit more cash to splash for a gift that’s going to be truly memorable (and we’ll still throw in some cheaper ‘stocking filler’ options along the way, too).
If you’re looking for golf-themed gift ideas for the avid golfer in your life, but you’re not sure where to start, we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you in our Twelve Days of Christmas according to golfclubs4cash. So, sit down, light the fire, pour yourself something warm and Christmassy, stick on some Christmas songs (perhaps the Fairway-tale of New York? Sorry….), and check out our Twelve Days of Christmas, golfclubs4cash-style.
Choosing golf clubs including drivers, irons and putters for someone else can be a little bit tricky, because it’s such a personal thing, and a lot is dependent on the person’s height, golfing technique and individual preferences. But that’s not so much the case with a set of golf club grips, so they make a perfect golfing gift. We’ve got a fantastic selection of new golf club grips in our online golf store, so swing by and get shopping.
How’s this for a Christmas gift that keeps on giving the whole year round? If the special person in your life is enjoying the odd round of golf, why not encourage them to up their game by gifting them a year’s membership at their favourite golf club? (And if that special person in your life is, in fact, you, then we say buy yourself the membership - you deserve it - there’s snow judgement here.)
There are plenty of golf courses to choose from, so find out about your local options and see which might offer the best deal. There’s no doubt that your loved one will love this gift, and it comes with the added bonus that it’s good for their elf, too.
Minds out of the gutter, please. We’re talking about golf balls. You can either buy a set of golf balls as a gift for your loved one, or even better still, how about a voucher for a bucket of balls or two at your local driving range? They’ll love the opportunity to practise their swing technique, and you could follow it up with a slap-up meal or drinks in the bar. An hour or two on the driving range brings a whole new meaning to Driving Home for Christmas.
What do you get for the golfer in your life who’s already got it all? A gift voucher, that’s what. You may think they have everything, but the truth is that they’ll be secretly lusting over a certain new putter, or perhaps a golf bag, but they can’t quite justify the spend. So let them pick exactly what they want!
Sure, some people feel that a gift voucher is a bit of a cop-out, but we disagree. With a voucher, you can give them their heart’s desire (which obviously is going to be second hand golf equipment in great condition from golfclubs4cash!). We’ve got golfing gift vouchers available in multiples of £10, so head on over and make this your easiest Christmas shopping experience yet - sorted in seconds.
Baby… It’s Cold Outside. So why not treat your loved one to a cosy new golf jumper, jacket or even thermals to keep them toasty out on the golf course through the colder months? Or, perhaps they’d love a brand-new pair of golf shoes so they can Step Into Christmas in style? We’ve got an amazing range of golf clothing and shoes at golfclubs4cash, so check out our collection and get your Christmas gift shopping ticked off in no time at all.
You’ll have to channel your inner Sherlock for this one, because you’re going to need to find out your loved one’s non-dominant hand (which is left, if they’re right-handed, or right, if they’re a left-handed golfer). Golf gloves are usually sold individually according to your non-dominant hand, and they’re very handy on the golf course because they help promote a consistent golf club grip and reduce rubbing and blisters on the lead hand (the one that comes into contact with the club’s grip). They may already have one, but that’s not an issue as it’s always good practice to carry a spare in case one gets lost or wet in the rain.
If you’re worried that one golf glove might look a little sad on its own under the Christmas tree, then never fear. You can always add in some golf accessories like a cap, a golf towel or perhaps a set of tees to add to the gift. Tee-riffic! Or how about an umbrella for those unexpected downpours on the golf course?
You can bet that they’ll be the envy of their friends on the golf course with a fabulous new golf bag. It might be a challenge to get it under the tree (or even wrapped, for that matter), but they’ll be delighted with a new golf bag that can carry all their clubs and equipment around the course, Golf bags can be stand bags or cart bags, and if that means nothing to you then never fear, we’ve got you covered with our ultimate guide to buying a golf bag which explains all you need to know. In even better news, we’ve got a fantastic range of second hand golf bags that are in great condition, so if you’re on a budget or you want to bag a bargain, you’ll love this range.
If you’re after a Christmas gift for the gadget lover in your life, then what better to give them than a GPS device or rangefinder that they can use on the course to take their game to new heights? And, guess what… yes, we sell those too! Check out our great range of GPS devices and rangefinders, and consult our buying guide for rangefinders and golf GPS devices if you’re not sure which type to go for.
If nothing on the list has tickled your fancy just yet, then we’ve got a great idea right here - feast your mince pies on this idea. How about booking your golf-mad loved one some personal tuition from a trained golf coach? Most, if not all golf clubs have their own in-house PGA professionals who are on hand to deliver lessons. You can book a single session or a course of lessons depending on your budget. Lessons could be held on the driving range to improve their swing, on the practice putting green to perfect their putting technique, or even in a golf studio using a golf simulator. This fancy bit of equipment can record and analyse your swing so you can spot exactly which improvements you need to make to bring that all-important handicap down.
What better way to treat the golf lover in your life than to give them a subscription to their favourite golf magazine? There are plenty to choose from, so do a bit of detective work to find out which golf publication is their favourite and you’ll make their day. It doesn’t have to be a physical magazine either - you could look into subscription-based golf blogs and other online resources to treat them to instead. Any subscription-based present really is the gift that keeps giving - all year round, so it’s sure to put a smile on their face.
We’re gearing up for the big one at number twelve next, but in at number eleven… how about this for a treat? We’ve talked about buying a golfclubs4cash gift voucher for your loved one to spend on golf clubs and accessories, but what about a gift voucher at their local golf club where they can trade it in for a round of golf, and perhaps even a meal and some drinks in the restaurant too if you’re feeling flush? After all, it’s always tee-time somewhere! Most golf clubs sell gift vouchers in various different denominations, and you can usually choose what you want to spend it on. Easy to buy, easy to wrap, fun to spend… boom.
We told you we were going for the big one for number twelve… and here it is. If money is no object and you really want to splash the cash, then there really is no better Christmas present than an all-expenses-paid golf trip to some exotic location - believe us when we say that they’re gonna love you from head to mistletoe! Where you end up is only limited by your imagination (or budget!), but we can tell you that the world is full of fantastic, luxurious golfing getaways, so dig out the passport (because they had better not leave you ‘Home Alone’), and prepare yourselves for the trip of a lifetime!
If your budget won’t quite stretch to a foreign trip, then there’s always the option of a UK-based golf holiday instead. The UK is packed with fantastic golf courses, each with its own individual character and challenges. Find one close to a nearby town or landmark that you’ve always wanted to explore, to really make the most of your time away (if you can drag yourselves away from the golf course, that is!). To help you out, we’ve put together a list of the best UK golfing destinations that’ll give you plenty of ideas to get started.
So there we have it - to round it all off, there really is something for everyone on this list, and brilliant Christmas gifts are par for the course at golfclubs4cash. But all this gift shopping is tiring work, and let’s face it, you need a treat too. Sit down with a slice of Christmas cake and mull it all over. Which of our twelve ideas are you going to pick for yourself?
Whatever it is that you’re hankering after this Christmas, check out our full range of golf clubs and accessories at golfclubs4cash. You’ll love our prices, which are so competitive that you’ll be able to treat yourself to a little something extra, too. It’s a Wonderful Life.
American golfer Scottie Scheffler is a PGA Tour player and is currently the world’s number-one golfer. He was born on the 21st of June 1996 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and at the very early age of three years old, his parents gifted him a plastic golf club set with a ball. (They should have treated him to a real-life second hand golf set from golfclubs4cash instead!) They could never have imagined the spark that this gift would ignite, and that their son would go on to win 75 times on the PGA junior circuit before reaching the top position in the Official World Golf Ranking in March 2022, winning the Masters Tournament the same year, and the Players Championship the year after.
It’s fair to say that, even despite his recent defeat at the Ryder Cup, Scheffler is still at the top of his game. (It’s a less well-known fact that he is also a very talented pickleball player, so his sporting prowess is showing no bounds.) So, let’s take a look at the golf clubs that he chooses to keep himself at the top of the rankings…
Scottie is loving playing with the Stealth 2 Plus TaylorMade driver (with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft), and he’s not alone, with other top players like Rory McIlroy also favouring Stealth drivers. The Stealth 2, released earlier in 2023, is an impressive upgrade on the original and is a brilliant all-rounder with widespread appeal. Scottie also plays with a TaylorMade Stealth 2 3-wood, too. Learn more about this golf brand in our article about TaylorMade.

Scheffler’s golf irons are a mixed bag, with his current favourites (as of August 2023) being Srixon ZU85 3-4, and his 5 iron through to pitching wedge being TaylorMade P7TW.
Browse our second hand iron sets hereScottie’s put a lot of thought into his selection of wedges, and his current favourite golf brand for golf wedges is Titleist. Using a combination of the Vokey Design SM8 and the WedgeWorks, with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400 golf shafts seems to be a winning combination.
Scheffler is yet another high-profile fan of the Scotty Cameron putter, and this prototype has been serving him well in recent games. The Scotty Cameron golf brand is of course synonymous with precision putting, and they developed this prototype especially for Scottie after growing tired of applying lead tape to the bottom of his old putter for extra weight!

So in this article, we'll delve into the history of golf - so, swot up on the timeline so you can impress your friends with your knowledge on your next round!
An old Dutch sport called "kolf" involved hitting a ball into a target using a wooden club, just like early forms of golf, and it’s very likely that this is how golf first came into being. But golf as we know it really took off in Scotland during the 15th century, and The Old Course at St. Andrews, established in 1552, is now one of the oldest golf courses in the world.
In 1744, the ‘Gentlemen Golfers of Leith’ held the first official golf competition, coming up with some of the earliest known rules and establishing early golf etiquette for the game. More and more people started hearing about golf, and it wasn’t long before new courses were opening, both in Scotland and further afield.
In 1811, Mary Leith won the first recorded ladies’ golf tournament in Scotland, and In 1812, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews (R&A) became golf’s governing body, implementing a more formalised set of rules that would go on to be adopted worldwide.
The Saint Andrew's Golf Club, New York, was established in 1888, and the United States Golf Association (USGA) was founded in 1894. They are also credited with introducing the first golf handicapping system.
The Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA) was formed in 1916, and major championships like the Masters and the U.S. Open were set up where now-legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Bobby Jones and Ben Hogan made their names.
In 1900 and 1904 golf was featured in the Olympics, but it disappeared again soon after - largely because of the challenging logistics and a lack of popularity. But in 2016, golf finally made its much-anticipated Olympic comeback at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Golf balls were originally made of wood, but in the late 19th century a rubber-core ball became available which had a huge impact on golfers’ distance and overall performance. Golf club design became more sophisticated too, with precision milling and advanced engineering heavily influencing the look and feel of the drivers, irons and putters we know and love today.
In November 2020, the World Handicap System (WHS) was introduced - a global system allowing a level playing field wherever you play in the world. Before this, there were six different systems in operation across different countries, and it was causing some confusion. WHS solved that problem, while also factoring in the difficulty of each golf course along with your personal skill level.
So, that brings you up to the current day, where golf is perhaps more popular than it’s ever been before. With new courses springing up regularly, golf equipment constantly becoming more sophisticated, and new world-class golfers rising the ranks, golf’s popularity is still very much on the rise.
And of course, at golfclubs4cash we always do what we can to get as many new people into golf as possible, to continue this rich history. We’re doing this by making golf more affordable and supplying used golf clubs and equipment at a fraction of the price of new.

Your choice of fairway wood is one of the most important decisions that you’ll need to make when considering which golf clubs to bring with you onto the course. It’s a useful golf club for a number of reasons - firstly, of course, it’s brilliant for gaining distance on long fairway shots. But it’s also a useful tool for getting yourself out of a sticky situation such as clearing uneven ground or getting over hills and other obstacles. The reason for this is that a fairway wood has a higher loft than a driver. Some people - especially beginners - choose to use the fairway to tee off, as opposed to a driver.
So, it’s an important and extremely versatile club that is certainly not to be overlooked, and the more you know about fairway woods, the easier you’ll be able to find your perfect fairway (and our guide to buying a second hand fairway wood will help you choose, too).
When considering which fairway wood to buy, it is always helpful to know what other golfers just like you are shopping for. For that reason, we’ve developed this list of the 10 best-selling used fairways at golfclubs4cash. We’re going to count you down through our most popular fairways, but can you predict which will come in at the coveted number one slot? Let’s find out…
PING’s G-Series fairways are a firm favourite with golfclubs4cash customers. Delivering low spin and extreme forgiveness, launching the ball high into the air is a piece of cake thanks to the low-back centre of gravity - with the lower lead edge helping impact to occur higher up the face. When talking about this model, PING’s engineers say that this is a club that’s been designed to be used in any situation, so it’s a great all-rounder and very worthy of its place at number ten in our list of best-selling fairway woods.
Bag yourself a bargain PING fairway wood todayCallaway’s Paradym fairway is a firm favourite of ours, and it's our ninth most popular fairway wood with our customers. This forged carbon stunner gives a high launch off the fairway and produces consistently impressive ball speeds and great alignment with your target. It’s a brilliant option whether you’re striking off the tee or the fairway, and because the hosel is adjustable you’ll be able to fine-tune it to suit your exact needs.
Browse our full range of second hand Callaway driversWith fabulous performance, a high Moment of Inertia (MOI) and bags of forgiveness, the TaylorMade M4 fairway is a stunning fairway with a bigger sweet spot than that of its predecessor - the M2. The internal split pad weighting and longer speed pocket minimise twisting so that energy is transferred to the ball. TaylorMade goes as far as saying that the multi-material M4 is its ‘ultimate distance fairway wood’, and we’re inclined to agree.

With a larger face to help with forgiveness, this fairway gives a satisfying sound on impact, and if you’re a little bit off-centre then you’ll get a slightly duller sound which gives you a great indication of whether you’ve hit from the sweet spot or not. It’s a worthy occupant of our number five slot, for sure.

Every avid golfer spends hours on the driving range working hard to improve their golf swing and stance, or on the practice greens to perfect their putting technique. They also play around with the combination of golf clubs in their bag, and experiment with new types of golf clubs, adjustable weights, new grips and shafts, and golf gadgets along the way. They may try playing with players that are better than them, worse than them or an even match, lose themselves in online golf tutorials, and may even seek lessons from a golfing professional.
But that’s all the physical side of things, and often the one thing that is neglected when golfers are looking to improve their game is the mental preparations that could make all the difference. As all golfers know, golf is as much of a mental challenge as it is a physical one, so it’s important to pay attention to ways to strengthen your resolve on the golf course. In fact, most of the world’s leading golf players don’t just work with a coach, but also with a sports psychologist to help them hit peak performance.
We can’t all afford a psychologist to accompany us on our rounds, but that’s not to say there aren’t things you can put in place to keep yourself as mentally fit as possible. So, this article is dedicated solely to ways of optimising your mental approach to golf. We’re going to share loads of tips and tricks with you that could be just what you need to improve your game. (PS… we’ve got a whole section in our blog that’s dedicated to other golf tips and tricks that you’ll love).
So, let’s get stuck in…
It’s easy to get carried away with the finer details of mental preparations for golf, but let’s face it, there are some basic things that we all need to do before we start drilling down into the more specific aspects. The main thing is that we look after ourselves properly, on and off the golf course. That means making sure you’re getting enough good-quality sleep, maintaining a healthy, nutritious diet and getting lots of different types of exercise to keep your body fit and alert.
Without these fundamentals, you’ll find it very hard to get into the right headspace to nail a game of golf. So, if you find that you are constantly fighting a ‘mind over matter’ battle on the golf course then perhaps it’s time to take it back to basics and make sure you’re meeting all your mind and body’s needs for good mental health.
Your mental preparation starts long before you arrive at the golf course. Take the time to pack your car with everything that you might need including your golf clubs, golf bag and golf accessories. Do this well before you are due to leave, so that you’re not in a rush and can head off at your own speed. Don’t forget to pack suitable golf clothing that will stand up to different weather conditions - as we all know, it can be blowing a hoolie on the golf course one minute, and the next it’s blazing sunshine. Wear comfortable golf shoes, and remember a jumper, coat, sun visor, water bottle and a towel - all good things to carry with you, just in case!
Knowing that you are prepared for your round of golf can stop you from worrying about things along the way, so don’t neglect this as you get ready for a game.
Make your way to the golf course in good time, ensuring that you’re arriving well before your tee time. That will give you a chance to get settled, and maybe even to hit a few balls on the driving range or the practice putting green to warm up.
Clear any obvious distractions straight away - for example, make sure your phone is not just switched to silent, but that it is also off so you don’t feel it vibrating in your pocket. Take time to get accustomed to the climate and the scenery around you. Take a few big deep breaths in and out, and stand up straight with your shoulders back. You might even like to try a few gentle stretches too, just to limber up your mind and body.
Just like your body, your mind needs a gentle warm-up too. Focus on the course, noting any hazards that you can see ahead of you. You could even try a little visualisation, which is a technique that many professional golfers use. Simply close your eyes, and see yourself hitting a ball from the first tee. Picture the hole you’re aiming for, feel the club in your hand and imagine your ball flying high and landing right next to the hole - or even right in the hole if you’re feeling particularly optimistic!
Yeah yeah… you’re aiming for the hole - but that’s not what we mean! What we are talking about when we say ‘know what you’re aiming for’ is goals, targets, objectives… whatever you want to call them. It’s a really good idea to go into your round of golf with a clear idea of what you want to achieve from it. Have a target score in mind, and keep this front and centre as you progress through the game.
Any goal should be a SMART one - that is, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely. When you’re setting your objective, make sure it meets all these criteria. Too easy, and it won’t challenge you, but too difficult or unrealistic and you’ll likely leave the course unmotivated and disappointed.
Having a clear goal in mind throughout your game helps you work towards achieving it, which brings overall focus and clarity to your game (and stops your mind drifting off between shots, too!). Hopefully, when you finish your round and smash your goal, you’ll be buoyed with a new sense of confidence and progress. And we all know how great that feels.
One of the most common reasons for the much-feared ‘shank shot’ is a shaky, nervous hand and/or sweaty palms. (And if you don’t know what a shank shot is, check out our guide to golfing jargon and terminology).
Getting rid of the shakes is no mean feat once they set in, but breathing is key. Whenever we are anxious on or off the course, our breathing quickens and becomes more shallow, which in turn speeds up our heart rate. Maintaining a steady, normal breathing pattern even when the stakes are high is one of the most important things you can do to avoid the trembles kicking in.
Remember that nervousness and excitement are two different emotions that feel very similar, so if you feel the nerves kicking in, tell yourself that you’re not nervous, you’re excited. Reframing the feeling (both physically and mentally) is a great way to rationalise your thoughts and maintain equilibrium.
Yes, this article is all about the mind, but your body and mind are so inextricably linked that it’s still important to pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you feel anxiety creeping in, take it as a sure sign that you need to take action to calm yourself down.
We talked about reframing nerves so that you treat them as excitement instead of anxiety, but there are a lot of other ways you can use reframing to change your perspective and strengthen your mental mettle. Positive thoughts and affirmations can go a long way towards making you feel calmer and more together, so pay attention to your thoughts and try to reverse negative ones into positive ones. For example, if you’re thinking, ‘I already know I’m going to miss this shot’, then you probably will. Instead, try reversing your thinking so that you tell yourself, ‘I know this is an ambitious shot but I know I can do it’. This can be a very powerful technique for getting yourself into the right mindset to smash your golfing goals - try it out!
As with all things in life, you can’t change the past, and you can’t predict the future either. It’s a common problem for golfers to be thinking so hard about the previous shots that they’ve taken that they fail to focus on the one they are taking right now. So, whether your last shot was an absolute belter or a complete failure, let it go and focus on the here and now. Equally, don’t let your mind fast-forward to upcoming holes on the course and how you’re going to tackle them. Stay present, in the here and now, being mindful and paying attention to the moment that you’re in.
If you’re playing a shocker of a round, it’s easy to become tempted to submit a ‘no-return’, and abandon your game. Don’t do it - see the round through no matter what, because there are always things to be learned and practised. Giving up halfway round will only add to your disappointment, and you never know, you might even be able to claw it back! Completing the round even when you were tempted to pack it in will still leave you with a sense of satisfaction, even if your score isn’t anything to write home about!
When it comes to preparing for a round of golf, mental preparation is everything - so get into a routine. It looks different for every player, but perhaps your pre-round routine could look a little something like this:
It can also be useful to have a song that you really love playing while you carry out your mental preparations - make sure it’s positive and upbeat and puts you in a good frame of mind. Having these little routines in place can be very helpful when you’re feeling nervous or anxious as you can just get stuck into your routine without thinking about it too much. These little go-to habits can transform your game, so they’re well worth putting some thought, time and effort into.
Whether you’re playing with brand-new or second hand golf clubs, you’ll feel more confident on the course if you know that they have been well-maintained. Looking after your golf clubs is an important part of preparing mentally for a game, so take time to give them a little TLC before you head out. When you know you’re playing with good-quality, well-maintained golf clubs you’ll exude confidence on the course (and if you feel like treating yourself to a new-to-you driver, iron or putter to give yourself an extra boost… well, who are we to judge?!).
So then, that’s all our top ways to prepare yourself mentally for your golf game. What have we missed? All golfers have different tips and tricks, routines, mottos and even superstitions when they’re preparing themselves mentally for a game of golf. What’s your secret? Let us know!
The brand is a firm favourite with world-leading golf pros such as Tiger Woods and Cam Smith, and what further endorsement do you need than that? So, let’s find out more about what makes this brand so special in the putting world.
Californian Don T. Scotty Cameron (“Scotty”) was introduced to golf by his dad, an insurance professional who played off a very respectable handicap of 2. A young Scotty spent hours in the garage with his father, tinkering with golf clubs, shaping club heads, dreaming up new designs and creating prototypes for testing. Their putter design philosophy was that the club head should look like it’s melting into the ground. Before his father passed away, he made it clear to Scotty that he thought he had a real talent, and urged him to pursue their mission. Scotty perfected his milling, shaping and finishing skills, and to this day the craftsmanship is what the brand is most well known for.
The brand rose through the ranks during the mid-90s, and in 1994 it was contracted to exclusively manufacture putters for the Acushnet Company and Titleist. These days, there is so much love for and interest in Scotty Cameron as a golf brand that it has its own museum and gallery in Tokyo.
If you’re eyeing up a Scotty Cameron putter, then that’s because you’re a fan of fantastic golf club craftsmanship and a premium look and feel. It’s by no means the cheapest putter brand on the market, but it is one of our most enduringly popular ones. That’s because our customers know that if they want to improve their putting technique then they need to invest in high-quality equipment. And because they’re buying second hand golf clubs and equipment, they can bag themselves a bargain used Scotty Cameron putter at a fraction of the usual retail price.
If you’re in the market for a new-to-you putter from Scotty Cameron or any of the other leading brands, we’ve got it all. Check out our range of used putters, and if you need help in deciding then you’ll find our buying guide for putters helpful. We’ve also written a guide to the best putter brands (which features Scotty Cameron, of course).

At golfclubs4cash, second hand iron sets are one of our most popular lines by far - they’re literally flying off the shelves, and we work hard to keep a regular supply coming in to replenish the stocks. It’s no surprise - they’re some of the most crucial clubs in your golf bag once your driver has hit a shot off the tee, and 1000s of our customers rely on us to help them source a set of top-quality second hand irons.
In this article, we count down from ten to one our most popular used iron sets. Without giving you any spoilers, it’s an impressive list featuring some of the most enduring, best-loved golf brands around. Have a read for inspiration, and if you need more information before treating yourself to your own set of used irons sets, check out our helpful buyers’ guide for golf irons.
So, let’s get stuck into our list of top ten best-selling used golf iron sets at golfclubs4cash (and if any of them take your fancy, you’ll find a great selection in our used iron set section of our website).
It’s absolutely no surprise to see Titleist in our list of best golf iron sets, and it’s not the last you’re going to see of this much-loved golf brand either. Delivering more distance than its relative - the T100 (favoured by Cam Smith and Nelly Korda) - the forged, dual cavity S model brings a stronger loft, buckets of feel and workability, and it looks stunning in the golf bag thanks to its sleek design. It may not be up there with some of its rivals when it comes to forgiveness, but this is a tour-level iron set that gives a soft, solid feel on impact, and the sweet spot is larger than you might expect. The T100s 2021 has earned its place at number ten, and we don’t expect demand to slow down through 2024.
Shop for a Titleist T100s 2020 iron setWhen it comes to golf iron design and manufacturing, PING knows a thing or two about that. The G10 iron sets are classy, excellent value for money (especially when you buy them second hand!) and are supremely user-friendly, making them a very common sight on the golf course. PING G10 irons have been around for a long time now, but golfers keep coming back to them as a firm favourite.
They’ve been designed using PING’s ‘extreme weight perimeter’ concept - transferring some of the club head weight into the perimeter of the club to gain optimal MOI (Moment of Inertia), and it’s made a huge difference to golfers’ performance. If you’re a high-handicapper who’s looking to refine your game, bring down your handicap and bring your number of shots down, then you’ll love these little beauties. We’ve got a great selection of preloved PING iron sets in our online store.
Shop for a PING G10 iron setWe’re back with Titleist for the number eight slot, and it’s hardly surprising given that Titleist irons are a firm favourite with both professionals and amateurs. Titleist’s 2021 T200 irons might sit in the shadow of the T100, but for recreational players who value forgiveness, more distance and exceptional looks, the T200 ticks all the boxes giving you the best of both worlds. With a brushed silver back plate, a compact blade size and giving more of a ‘crack’ than a ‘thud’, the T200 2021’s looks, sound, forgiveness and distance are all packaged up perfectly in this ever-popular iron set.
Shop for a Titleist T200 2021 iron setWe’re bouncing back to PING irons for the number seven slot, and this time it’s the i525’s moment in the limelight. Offering subtle improvements over the i500, the i525 iron set’s forgiveness (despite the compact head) gives you a bigger margin for error for those unavoidable, if slightly annoying mishits. It’s got a livelier feel, strong loft and gives a marginally longer distance. The i525 is a fantastic all-rounder - great for low to mid-handicap players, but it also suits a wide range of other abilities.
Shop for PING i525 iron setsWe’re sticking with PING for the number six slot (and it’s not the last you’ve seen of them yet, either). PING’s G425 irons are the new kids on the block since the G410 went out of production. Compared to the G410, the G425 has forgiveness in spades, is inviting to hit and offers a more neutral and consistent ball trajectory. Consistency is the name of the game with the G425 - a powerful feel and a low spin make this a great choice for golfers of all levels and abilities, and our customers love it.
Shop for PING G425 iron setsQuite frankly our top ten has given PING and Titleist plenty of attention up until now, so it’s high time we focused on yet another big name in golf irons - TaylorMade. TaylorMade irons are in constant demand… if they’re good enough for Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods who have both chosen TaylorMade irons in their bags throughout their careers) then they’re definitely good enough for us. The TaylorMade P790 is an upgraded version of the 2017 P790.
There have been several small but notable improvements to the 2019 P790 irons - adjustments that might not seem like much, but when they’re all put together they make for a refined, sophisticated iron that suits a wide range of abilities. Off comes the full ‘TaylorMade’ name from the club head, replaced by a simple brand mark instead. The sole is shinier, the topline is slightly thinner, the face is 7% thinner, the tungsten weight is 15% heavier, and the overall look and finish has a more premium feel. All of these improvements drive an increased ball speed, better launch angles, plenty of forgiveness, and a genuinely improved distance. And we’re here for all of it.
Shop for TaylorMade P790 2019 iron setsSticking with TaylorMade irons, we’re not surprised to see their Stealth iron sets high up on our list of best-selling second hand golf iron sets at golfclubs4cash. With many improvements to the previous SIM2 Max model having been made, the 2022 Stealth iron has an elegant, premium and lively feel, delivers loads of forgiveness and low spin, performs well on distance shots and is incredibly accurate. The middle section of the club toe has been removed, which has led to a lower CG (Centre of Gravity) - and in real terms, that means better ball speed and higher launch. It’s a firm favourite with us here at golfclubs4cash headquarters. We don’t like to brag, but back in January 2023, we made some predictions about which irons would dominate throughout the year, and the Stealth irons were firmly on the list.
Shop for TaylorMade Stealth iron setsWe’re back with PING again for the highly coveted number three slot. The better-looking brother of the G20, the G25 irons are great for players of all abilities, so it’s no wonder they’re such a popular choice. With a progressive sole, a compact look, a non-glare matte finish and a thinner topline, PING listened hard to its customers to create a fabulous all-rounder that marks a stark improvement in both looks and performance.
Unique to the G25 is the Custom Turning Point (CTP). This is a custom bottom on the iron’s sole which lowers the CG (Centre of Gravity) and increases the MOI (Moment of Inertia). That means higher launches and straighter shots. But by far the best thing about the G25 is its forgiveness. If you’re looking for a versatile, supremely playable golf iron that suits a wide range of abilities, then you can’t get much better than this in our opinion.
Shop for PING G25 iron sets todayWe’re a sucker for good looks, and it seems that you lot are too. This is Callaway’s first and only appearance in our list of top-selling used golf irons at golfclubs4cash. And Callaway iron sets don’t come much better than the Rogue ST Max. It’s powerful, it’s noticeably long and forgiving, and it’s very easy to align. These are highly playable irons with low flight, strong lofts and loads of consistency around the golf course. The Rogue ST Max replaces the previous Mavrik Max model and it comes with a solid, expensive feel.
Shop for Callaway Rogue ST Max iron setsDrumroll please… the star performer in our list of most popular used golf iron sets at golfclubs4cash is… TaylorMade’s 2021 P790 golf iron sets. With 2019’s P790 still hanging in there at a respectable number five in our charts, we reckon that the updated 2021 model has smashed it out of the park. Built on the same foundations of performance and elegance, and aimed at low to mid-handicappers, this is a forgiving iron with a premium feel that does not compromise on distance. With a thin wall, more tungsten and a larger sweet spot, this really is an iron that has it all. We’re not surprised at all to see it sitting pretty at the top of our charts.

When golfers are analysing the tiny adjustments they can make to their selection of golf clubs, there are two details that are worth learning more about. One of them is the Centre of Gravity of the clubhead. And, you’ll be pleased to know that you can find out more about that in our article telling you everything you need to know about the Centre of Gravity (CG, or CoG) of a golf club.
The other detail to swot up on is the Moment of Inertia (MOI), and that’s what we’re focusing on in this article. Yes, it’s physics, but you’ll be amazed at how big a part that has to play in finessing your golf technique. We’ll call it MOI from now on…
In mechanical engineering, Collins Dictionary says, “The moment of inertia of the cross-section of a body is its resistance to changes in its rotation. It depends on how far each part of the body's mass is from its center.”
But we’re not mechanical engineers, we’re golfers, so let's look at what that means for us and our golf clubs in simpler terms. In golf, MOI refers to the golf club’s resistance to twisting when it hits the golf ball. The rule of thumb to remember is the higher the MOI, the more resistant it will be to twisting during a swing.
If you’re a relative beginner looking for stability and forgiveness, you’ll want to find a golf club with a higher MOI. If you’re a higher handicapper and all about workability and control, straightness and distance, then you need a lower MOI (but you’ll have to compromise on the amount of forgiveness it allows). MOI is increased in a golf club by distributing the weight around the edge of the clubhead.
As with all things in golf, it’s as much about trial and error as it is knowledge and technique, so the best way to find out what MOI is right for you is to experiment with a wide range of golf clubs.
Golf drivers are one of the most important clubs in your bag, designed for distance (and therefore more prone to mishits). So, you’re looking for a higher MOI here that can reduce any twist incurred by an off-centre shot. When it comes to irons, higher MOI models are usually cavity-backed with a distributed weight around the clubhead to give your club a bigger ‘sweet spot’ and improve the quality of your shot. As for putters, you may be surprised to learn that MOI is still important. Again, a higher MOI will give you more forgiveness and mallet putters are good for this because of their larger heads and perimeter weighting.
Generally speaking, less experienced, higher handicappers should look for clubs with a high MOI. More proficient players with lower handicaps can afford to experiment with a lower MOI in their club. You won’t find an actual figure for your club’s MOI when you’re browsing for used golf clubs, but you can research the model to find out if it’s got a low or a high MOI to help you make your decision.
We hope you’ve found our guide to Moment of Inertia (MOI) in golfing useful. Let us know if you have any questions!
At golfclubs4cash, it’s our mission to make golfing accessible to all, and that includes demystifying some of the terms that are bounced around on the golf course so that your understanding reaches new levels. So, we look at the jargon and technicalities of golf and try to explain them in a way that’s easy to understand, and also to apply to your game. In another article, we talk about the Moment of Inertia (MoI) in a golf club, and what that means to you, and we’ve also written a guide to golf club loft and lie.
And in this article, we’re taking a deep dive into the Centre of Gravity of a golf club. You may also see it written as CG, or CoG - it all means the same thing. So, let’s dig in.
In physics, the Centre of Gravity (sometimes called the centre of mass) is the imaginary point of an object where the total weight of an object appears to be located. If you were listening in Science, you’ll know that gravity is the downwards force that keeps us all on the planet. Imagine you’re balancing a pen on the end of your finger - the point where it balances perfectly without wobbling or falling off is the pen’s Centre of Gravity (which we’ll call CG from now on). We all have one, and it stops us wobbling around and falling over. So, fairly important then.
The CG of a golf club is the point of the club head where the weight is most evenly distributed during your swing. It’s important for balance, stability, forgiveness and the trajectory of your ball flight, as well as general performance and feel. So, while it’s a minor adjustment, it can make quite a difference, and we always recommend that our customers experiment with lots of different types of clubs to find the one that feels most natural to them. You can pop into one of our golf stores if you’d like to try some out.
You can usually estimate a club’s CG by the shape of the club head. If the sole of your club is thick and wide, then the CG of the club will be low. Low CG golf clubs are best for beginners, and you’ll find that a low CG will launch the ball higher and generate less spin. If your club head looks like it’s thicker and wider at the top, then it’s probably got a higher CG. High CG golf clubs will generate a lower ball flight and more spin and are better for more experienced players.
Many golf clubs are adjustable, which means you can tweak the weight distribution of your club head so that it’s perfect for you. We’ve got a huge range of second hand adjustable golf clubs in our online store - grab yourself a bargain today.
Yes - it’s an important consideration. For example, a driver with a low CG might give you more height and distance, whereas a higher CG will reduce spin. An iron with low CG lifts the ball higher, while a high CG will help you control ball flight. In either case, most amateur golfers opt for a mid-CG which offers the best of both worlds. You can experiment yourself, but it’s always best to consult an expert who can help you adjust the weights in your club so the CG falls at an optimum point for you. Call into one of our stores and try a few different CGs out for size.
That concludes our article on the Centre of Gravity of golf clubs, but if there is anything else you’d like to know, just get in touch!
Its reputation may not have the size or scale of bigger golf brands like Callaway or Titleist, but since its inception in 1973, Cobra Golf remains a reliable, trustworthy name in the golfing community that’s favoured by amateurs and pros alike. Cobra sells a full range of clubs including drivers, irons, fairways, hybrids and putters and is known for its innovative approach to breaking the mould, e.g. developing one-length clubs, and introducing a 46” driver with a longer shaft for more distance.
Thomas L Crow (winner of the 1961 Australian Amateur Golf Championship) was fascinated by the idea that golfers typically bought golf clubs on a whim, hoping that they’d make their game better. He founded Cobra Golf in 1973, soon developing one of the world’s very first utility clubs - the Baffler - in 1980. This was a lighter golf club for ladies, seniors and golfers with an average handicap. Within five years, sales of the Baffler skyrocketed to over $4.5m, and Cobra still uses the Baffler name today.
In 1985, Cobra was the first US golf club manufacturer to offer graphite-shafted irons and woods. Then in 1994, the King Cobra became the best-selling iron in golf, and still, to this day, Cobra is perhaps best-known for its oversized, amateur-friendly irons. Cobra Golf has been a subsidiary of Puma since 2010, and 2023 sees the brand celebrate its 50th anniversary.
It’s not uncommon to spot a Cobra golf club in the bags of some of the world’s top players. Geoff Ogilvy won the 2006 US Open using a Cobra driver and bladed irons, and players such as Camilo Villegas, Bryson DeChambeau, Rickey Fowler and Ian Poulter are all known to have played with Cobra clubs at certain points in their career. Cobra has also had endorsement deals with Beth Daniel, Greg Norman and Hale Irwin.

It’s quite common for the putting element of golf to cause players by far the greatest stress. A lot rides on getting it just right, and the slightest adjustment can make all the difference between a winning shot and a losing one. When the world’s best players compete at national and international golf tournaments, you can hear a pin drop when it comes to the putting - spectators can barely dare to breathe as they witness a player taking what just might be a historic putt (or a complete disaster!).
Putting is a completely personal thing, and what suits one player won’t work for another. It really all just comes down to feel, and the more you practise, the better and more confident you’ll get. It’s a great idea to have a practice putting green at home so you can always be working on your short game in idle moments. Putting is as much about mind over matter as it is about physical technique - it’s easy for nerves to get the better of you so it’s a great idea to learn certain methods such as breathing techniques that will help calm you down, focus and play your best shots under pressure.
At golfclubs4cash we know how important your putting is to you, and we keep a keen eye on which putters our customers are loving the most so that we’re able to source the second hand putters you love at a price that you’ll love just as much.
So, in this roundup, we’re listing the most popular used putters according to… you! We love a bit of number-crunching, and this top ten putter list is based on recent sales figures from golfclubs4cash. Are there any missing from the list? Make sure you let us know if your favourite doesn’t appear!
Before we dig into our list of the top 10 most popular putters at golfclubs4cash, remember that there are loads of resources across our website and social media that are dedicated to helping you improve your putting. You’ll also find more general information, such as how to understand the handicapping system, how to get your kids into golf, and how to spot a counterfeit golf club in our library of resources.
When it comes to putting, check out our article on the best putters available on the market by brand, and also our golf putter buying guide to help you choose the best used putter for you. And once you’ve decided on the putter of your dreams, don’t forget to swot up on your putting technique by reading our guide to perfecting your putt.
With a premium feel and stunning aesthetics, Scotty Cameron’s Special Select putter is an enduring favourite with our customers around the world. Compact profiles make for incredible forgiveness, and even Scotty Cameron himself says these putters are ‘classic, industrial with elegance’. Synonymous with putting, it’s fair to say that Scotty Cameron has nailed the putting market, with plenty of the world’s top players opting for a Scotty Cameron putter to give them the edge on their short game. With world-class players like Tiger Woods, Nelly Korda and Cam Smith favouring favouring a Scotty Cameron putter, it’s no surprise to see Scotty Cameron featured here.
It’s no surprise to see a TaylorMade putter or two on the list, and here’s the first - in at number nine is TaylorMade’s Spider EX. Before 2009 it’s fair to say that TaylorMade wasn’t really known for its putters, but the release of the original Spider changed all of that, securing their place in our top ten putters. The distinctive ‘spider-shaped’ mallet-style design has been pivotal in convincing world-class players to move away from blade putters to gain a better Moment of Inertia (MOI). The Spider EX doesn’t just deliver forgiveness in buckets, but it also gives extra stability on the putting green, too.
Professional golfer Rory McIlroy has an endorsement deal with TaylorMade, and he’s often seen playing with a TaylorMade Spider HydroBlast putter.
Odyssey putters are a firm favourite with golfers, and here’s the first Odyssey appearance in our list of top ten best-selling second hand putters at golfclubs4cash (but… spoiler alert… it won’t be the last mention of Odyssey). Odyssey’s O-Works putter with its smooth roll, fantastic alignment aid and amazing feel upon impact, means that the O-Words more than lives up to Odyssey’s reputation as experts in putters.
World-class golfer and famous left-hander Phil Mickelson is an avid fan of Odyssey, so much so that he’s worked with them to design his very own Odyssey ‘Phil Mickelson’ prototype putter. If it’s good enough for him…
We’ve already taken a look at TaylorMade’s Spider EX putter which came in at number nine on our list of most popular putters, but now it’s the turn of TaylorMade’s putters to shine. Slightly shorter than the EX at 34 inches, with the Spider X it’s easy to get your distance and alignment right. With a big and comfortable grip, this is a light, comfortable and accurate putter that our customers love.
We’re back with Odyssey again, because in at number six comes the Odyssey Stroke Lab Putter with a mix of graphite and steel shafts. With a wide range of alignment and head shape options, this little beauty has excellent roll properties and feels soft and solid in your hands. It’s got a premium feel, but this isn’t reflected in its average retail price, so golfers love this as an affordable, mid-range putter that performs up there with the best. We’ve always got great deals on second hand Odyssey putters, so keep an eye on our website for the latest offers.
Oh yes… it’s the range of Yes! C-Groove Putters come in at number five in our putter chart. Each model featuring a ladies’ name (Emma, Cally, Penny etc.), this range of putters may not rival the likes of TaylorMade or Callaway in the brand awareness stakes, but that doesn’t mean that they don’t know what they’re doing when it comes to designing and manufacturing high-performing putters. For an affordable but refined putter, you can do a lot worse than one of these, and our customers are clearly massive fans.
It’s time to make way for that famous brand of putters Odyssey again. This time, number four in our list features the multi-material Odyssey White Hot XG Putter. With incredible feel and distance control, this putter features a high MOI, a better, more consistent roll and more forgiveness than you might expect. It’s an extremely stable design, with a soft face (so longer putts will need a bit more oomph).
We’re back with TaylorMade putters again, and this time we’re featuring the TaylorMade Spider GT Putter that’s rolling in at number three on our list of the most popular putters according to golfclubs4cash customers around the world. This is a handsome little number with stylish design, a good choice of colours and hosels available and excellent sound and feel. The compact head gives a high MOI, and it’s very stable throughout impact. This putter is a popular choice with more experienced golfers with a low handicap.
Which putter is the most popular with golfclubs4cash customers? The suspense is killing us, but we’ll just have to wait because we can’t go any further without shining the spotlight on the Odyssey White Hot Putter - in at number two, and only just pipped at the post by… we’re not telling you just yet! Yes, the White Hot XG Putter has already been featured (at a very respectable number four in our list), but the Odyssey White Hot putter appears to have the edge. It’s been 20 years since the release of this Odyssey putter, and its popularity is certainly showing no signs of slowing down.
We’ve made it to the number one slot! And PING has nailed it with its Karsten Original putter. To be fair, PING was conspicuous by its absence in this list up until now, and we’re not surprised to see a PING putter sitting pretty at the top of our list of most popular putters according to golfclubs4cash sales figures. This model absolutely conquers the ‘affordable golf’ market, and with a cushioned feel it delivers outstanding consistency.
You’ll be staggered at how much cheaper a PING Karsten is compared to more established putter brands on the market, and its affordability may well be a reason why it’s such a popular choice with golfers. But we know our customers and how discerning they are, and it’s very likely that they’re choosing PING’s Karsten Original over more well-known models because they know they can get the top-quality putting performance they’re looking for at a fraction of the price. You’re smart, you lot!
So, that concludes our list of best-selling putters at golfclubs4cash. What’s your verdict? Do you agree, or are there putters that are missing from the list? Regardless of which putter you’d like to see in the number one spot, you can be sure that you’ll find the very best choice of second hand golf clubs and equipment on the market at golfclubs4cash. Browse our range of second hand putters and let us know if there’s something you’re looking for and we’ll do our best to source it.

At golfclubs4cash, we firmly believe that golfing is for everyone, and we’re here to show you that you don’t need to sacrifice your golf when times get tight. There’s a common misconception that golf is expensive, but we’re here to tell you otherwise. You already know that we’re Europe’s biggest retailer of second hand golf clubs and accessories, and buying your used golf clubs here will save you bucket-loads of cash (and help the planet, too). So, here are some more tips and tricks for golfing on a budget. What other hacks can you share with us?
Technology can be your best friend when it comes to improving your game, and a quick scan of your app library will show up plenty of apps that can be downloaded either for free or for a small cost. Whether it’s finding online golf tuition or discounted tee times, they’re a great way to access loads of golf resources from your smartphone. (And obviously you’ve already downloaded the golfclubs4cash app for instant, 24/7 access to our latest deals and very best prices).
Tee times can often fluctuate in price, coming in cheaper at times when the course is less busy. Perhaps your local golf club offers off-peak prices, or maybe deals on ‘twilight rounds’ when the daylight may not be at its peak. Some golf courses even offer free green fees at certain points of the day. Speak to your local golf club and find out what discounts and deals they might be running. And another bonus top tip? Keep your eye out for lost balls throughout your game!
While some costs are inevitable when you’re playing golf, others are completely avoidable. Often, the price of a round can double or triple once you’ve landed at the clubhouse and buy a meal and perhaps a round of drinks. Getting organised before you leave the house by packing some lunch, snacks and a drink will save you loads of money. You could consider lift-sharing to and from the golf course to reduce your fuel costs, too. And walking the course with one of our preloved golf bags, rather than renting a buggy will save you cash, and keep you fitter too.
Impulse buying is a common issue with golfers who are obsessed with getting their hands on the newest ‘shiny thing’ (which we’ve *definitely* never done ourselves… cough…). While we can totally understand the urge to treat yourself to a new golf club, remember that buying second hand golf clubs saves you a considerable amount of money, and often they’re still in brand-new condition. The same goes for used golf bags, rangefinders and other golf accessories. Keep an eye on our golf club sale page for the best deals of the day.
You only need a small amount of space to set up your own practice putting green at home. All you’ll need is some artificial turf or a practice mat to get started. You could even set up a hitting net so you can practise your swing, too - or you’ll find that booking a slot at your local driving range doesn’t hit the pocket too hard either.
There are plenty of ways to reduce the cost of golf, and we’re committed to removing as many barriers to golf as possible. Whether you’re getting into golf for the first time and need our advice on sourcing a budget-friendly driver, iron, wedge or putter, or you’re looking to upgrade an existing set of clubs, you’ll find a huge range of used golf clubs at the best prices at golfclubs4cash. Get in touch if you’d like some friendly advice from our golf experts.
Not only that, but the Ryder Cup is fast approaching, too. Held from 25th September to 1st October at Marco Simon Golf & Country Club, Rome, Italy, all eyes will be on Team Europe’s Rory McIlroy who already has four Ryder Cup wins under his belt since his debut in 2010. We’re all hoping that he will play his part in reclaiming the Cup from the United States this year.
We’ve already taken a deep dive into which golf clubs McIlroy is carrying in his bag right now, but he’s famous for his choice of drivers, so in this article we’re going to take a look at some highlights from his drivers over the years.
McIlroy burst onto the professional scene way back in 2007, with a Titleist driver - the now infamous 907D2. It’s the first choice of 460cc drivers on the PGA Tour, and Titleist is always a trusted brand. The 907D2 has an enhanced MOI (Moment of Inertia) for better distance and shot control. Not a bad choice for his first year as a professional, and it certainly didn’t let him down.
In 2013, McIlroy signed a large endorsement deal with Nike, and this saw him hitting the course with a Nike Covert Driver. With a radical cavity back design, these big hitters generate less spin and offer plenty more forgiveness than previous versions. With an intuitive, adjustable hosel system (Flex Loft) it remains one of the most popular drivers today.
Sticking with Nike drivers, in 2014 McIlroy added a Nike VRS Covert 2.0 to his bag - one of the most iconic drivers in recent years. With a striking colour and excellent performance, it’s an enduring upgrade on previous Covert drivers.
At the end of 2016, Nike announced that it was withdrawing from the golf club and equipment market, which opened up an opportunity for McIlroy to experiment with other drivers. Despite having no sponsorship from Callaway, he regularly played with the Callaway Epic Driver in 2017. Later that year he would sign a $100m endorsement deal with TaylorMade, shifting to the new TaylorMade M2 driver.
More recently, McIlroy has been deploying the TaylorMade Stealth driver, but will he make any changes for the upcoming Ryder Cup? You can bet that we’ll be keeping an eye out and letting you know.

The very first place to start is by reading our guide to buying a golf wedge. That will talk you through all the basics and give you some things to consider before making your decision. But that’s not all - at golfclubs4cash we want to take all the hassle out of matching you with your perfect second hand golf club.
So, to save you time, we’ve compiled a list of our ten best-selling wedges so you can take some inspiration from your fellow golfclubs4cash fanatics! Let’s have a look at the winning wedges - which one would you put at number one?
Straight in at number ten is a firm favourite with golfers all around the world, and it’s the Titleist Vokey SM8 Wedge. Offering a stable and forgiving clubhead, consistent spin and huge versatility, the SM8 feels great in your hands - and with 23 different loft and bounce options across six sole grinds, you’ll find the perfect match for you in this fantastic wedge.
The SM8 isn’t the cheapest of the wedges, but it’s a great investment. If you’re on a budget never fear - we’ve always got plenty of deals on Titleist wedges - pop in and try a few out if you’re local to our Edinburgh or Warrington stores. And if you live further afield, remember we offer a 30-day no-quibble returns policy just in case you change your mind.
We’re sticking with Titleist Vokey for our ninth most-popular wedge at golfclubs4cash. This time, it’s the SM7’s turn to shine. It’s an all-round fantastic performer, and of course, being made by Titleist you can be sure that it’s going to look and feel great in your hands.
Known for its precision and versatility, the progressive CG design and spin control means that you’ll get better distance control and better accuracy. And, just like the SM8 it comes with a wide range of loft and bounce options, along with grind options. Golfers who rate the Vokey SM7 wedge say that it has a really refined feel to it because of a more solid impact feel and enhanced vibration dampening. Featuring Titleist’s spin-milled grooves for maximum spin, it’s easy to see why it’s a firm favourite with golfers at all levels.
Cleveland’s flagship RTX ZipCore wedge is in constant demand at golfclubs4cash. It’s been designed for better players (the lower handicappers) who have a well-developed short game. It’s a user-friendly muscleback wedge that gives a great deal of control, performance and versatility.
With plenty of loft and bounce options, this is a high-spinning and soft-feeling wedge that feels stable in your hands, with the only potential downside being the lower number of sole grind options available. Still, it’s a firm favourite with our customers and its position at number eight is all the proof that we need that it’s one of the biggest players in the wedge world!
We’re back with Titleist again (and… spoiler alert… there are even more still to come). Titleist’s SM6 wedge is the predecessor of the later SM7, SM8 and SM9s, but it’s still a firm favourite among golfers. With some of the more specialised grind options removed, the range is simplified. With impressive trajectory control, spin-milled grooves for maximum spin and control, a progressive centre of gravity for distance control, a solid feel and a variety of lofts and bounces available, newer models may be in hot demand but we think the SM6 has still got it.
It’s Titleist again! There’s little doubt that when Bob Vokey started designing his now-famous line of wedges, he was certainly onto something. Long before the later SM models hit the golf courses, the 2014 Vokey SM5 was already making waves. A stunning head shape and an amazing number of options on grinds, finishes, shapes and grooves helps players really refine their game. There’s little doubt that Vokey’s family of SM wedges are industry-leading in their innovation and craftsmanship.
A craftsman his whole life, Vokey didn’t start specialising in wedges until he joined Titleist in 1996. From then on, he’s become the world’s leading expert on golf wedge design and it’s fair to say that he’s transformed the market for good with the impact he’s had.
Moving away from Vokey… just joking… we’re staying right where we were for now! In at number five is the SM9 - the latest of the Vokey SM family. This one takes the forward centre of gravity to new heights for a more controlled ball flight and solid contact. The new grooves are cut right to the edge for exceptional spin and the materials and structure of the SM9s are finely tuned for lower flight and higher spin.
We’ve always got a great range of second hand Vokey SM9 wedges in stock, so keep an eye on our website for the latest additions and grab yourself a bargain.
Right… let’s move away from Titleist for a second (but we’re not done with them just yet!) to shine the spotlight on Callaway. With lofts up to 64 degrees available, Callaway’s Jaws MD5 Wedge is a surprise entry at number four in our list of best-selling used golf wedges at golfclubs4cash. With a soft feel and a high level of spin, this sleek wedge may be popular but it’s not for everyone - some prefer a straighter, longer leading edge. But for fans of the Jaws MD5, it just about ticks all of the boxes and we find this model in constant demand.
This is the big brother of the Callaway Mack Daddy 4 wedge and it’s definitely got a superior, more mature, premium feel to it.
It’s time to put another of golf’s leading brands in the limelight! TaylorMade is one of the biggest golf club manufacturers, and their Milled Grind 3 Chrome Wedge is a very worthwhile occupant of the number three slot on our list of best-selling used golf wedges.
If you crave a consistent ball flight and a very high spin, then this is the wedge for you without a doubt. With a soft, solid feel and ample versatility, this delivers excellent control and is a firm favourite with lower handicappers.
Bob’s back again! And this time it’s with his Vokey Design Wedge. This non-spin-milled, older wedge from Vokey Designworks is an enduring favourite and stands up well against the newer models. Although he’s dominated this list of best-selling golf wedges, the Vokey range was pipped to the post by… well, you’ll just have to read on to find out!
Drumroll please! Aaaand… here we are at number one on our list of most popular used golf wedges at golfclubs4cash! And just so that Titleist doesn’t get allll the glory, Cleveland has made it to the top spot with its 588 RTX wedge. This sleek little cavity-backed number is popular for a reason - the Rotex face technology makes for exceptional spin and stopping power. Low handicappers love the innovative groove and face technology, while higher handicappers love the milled face and the spin generated on mishits.
We’ve got plenty of second hand Cleveland 588 RTX wedges in stock at any given time - though you might want to be quick off the mark now we’ve announced it as our best-selling wedge! Download our app to be the first to hear about the latest additions to our range of used wedges.
And that’s a wrap! Did your favourite wedge feature on our top ten list? What’s missing that you’d add? If you need more help choosing the perfect golf wedge for you, give us a call today and we’ll be happy to help match you to your ideal used wedge.

But we love to help here at golfclubs4cash, so not only have we written you a dedicated guide to buying a golf hybrid or utility, but we’re also going to give you a list of our best-sellers here too!
At golfclubs4cash we’re Europe’s leading supplier of second hand golf clubs, and we have over 40,000 5* reviews on Trustpilot, so it’s a fairly safe bet that if a used utility club features in our list, you’re going to love it! But don’t forget we have a 30-day returns policy in the unlikely event that you change your mind.
So without further ado… let’s get stuck in! Here’s our list of the 10 best-selling golf hybrids at golfclubs4cash. What’s your favourite? Let us know!
PING is one of the leading names in golf, so it’s no surprise that this stylish, sleek hybrid should make an appearance in our top ten best-selling used golf hybrids. The G425 hybrid is a solid offering that offers an adjustable loft sleeve and extreme forgiveness. Its loud, tinny sound won’t appeal to everyone, but if you can get over that then this is a really great choice of hybrid that delivers new levels of playability and accuracy. This club excels where precision and control are of utmost importance on a shot.
In at number nine in our list of hybrids that you love is leading golf brand TaylorMade’s utility offering - the Stealth Hybrid. Packed with game-enhancing technologies like the carbon crown which delivers great stability and a 15% higher MOI, the advanced laser technology boosts confidence and helps align the club correctly. The sole has been designed to refine the weight distribution, while at the same time retaining great launch properties.
The all-black crown and red detailing is a firm favourite with golfers, and thanks to its consistent reliability and performance on the golf course, it combines launch with distance for a robust hybrid that won’t let you down.
Sticking with TaylorMade, the Rescue Mid Hybrid is another popular choice with our customers. Easier to use than a long iron, it gives great distance and a lower, deeper centre of gravity than many other hybrids. Offering a high launch angle, high spin and plenty of forgiveness, it also ranks highly for ball speed, too. A fabulous all-rounder that we love.
We didn't think it would be long before PING made an entrance in our list of best-selling second hand golf hybrids, and here they are at number seven. PING’s G410 hybrid is the first PING hybrid with an adjustable hosel. Boasting consistency, incredible distance and impeccable precision, this is a fantastic choice for golfers looking for a reliable hybrid that will bring more precision to their long game. With a larger head than some of PING’s other hybrid offerings, there’s forgiveness in spades, and the modest ‘ping’ sound that it makes is very satisfying to the ear! More than anything else, PING’s G410 hybrid is known for its consistency, distance and incredible ball flight - so it’s a keeper in our books!
Sticking with PING, let’s take a look at the G10 Hybrid that’s sitting at the number six spot in our list of most popular used golf hybrids. A magnificent all-rounder, the G10 Hybrid is an evolution of the older G5 and delivers an easy-to-launch, high ball flight. The club head is larger than you might expect, matching the size of some fairway woods, but rather than focusing on maximum distance this utility is all about controlling that distance. The shorter shaft gives you more control, and overall we’d say this is a club that is better suited to mid to high handicappers.
It’s Cobra’s time to shine in our list of best-selling golf hybrids at golfclubs4cash! This tasty little number is perfect if you’re wanting to increase your accuracy without any sacrifice on distance. The shorter length helps you gain more control, gain a higher launch and find the centre of the club face more effectively. Scoring highly on forgiveness and distance, the Cobra King Radspeed One-Length Hybrid is more than worthy of its place at number five on our list.
Bear in mind that there are no options for adjustability with this club - the shaft is one-length (as the name would suggest!), but because this short shaft boosts accuracy to such a degree without losing any distance you may even experience an increase in clubhead speed as a result.
If you’re looking for a non-adjustable but reliable all-rounder to suit almost any ability, the SIM2 Max Hybrid from TaylorMade is your answer. With plenty of loft options available, excellent and consistent distance and impressive forgiveness, this little beauty is a great performer that’s enduringly popular with amateurs and professionals alike.
Straight in at number three is TaylorMade’s original version of the SIM Max Hybrid. When it came out, everyone was astonished at its success and it continues to be a popular choice. While the SIM2 Max focuses on distance (with up to 10 yards of carry distance difference), the SIM has a flatter, more iron-like face. Good looking and with tremendous versatility, we’re not at all surprised to see this hybrid hovering around the top of our charts.
It’s about time we shone a spotlight on Callaway in our list of top ten hybrids! Callaway’s X2 Hot Hybrid is a refined offering that uses fairway wood technology for best-in-class performance. It looks as good as it feels, and the X2 has a low spin which gives strong ball flights and plenty of roll out. This hybrid has been specially engineered for golfers with a swing speed of 90 mph or less.
It’s time to reveal the top performer in our list of the ten most popular used golf hybrids, and it comes as no surprise to us that PING’s G15 hybrid tops the charts. We just love this hybrid for its performance and versatility, and we’re not the only ones. Boasting the holy trinity of excellent forgiveness, distance and versatility, PING’s G-Series are a perfect option for new players or golfers looking for a reliable all-rounder with plenty of forgiveness.
This is a perfect blend of iron and hybrid that more than deserves the top spot on our list of best second hand hybrids.

Founded in 1906 in Osaka, Japan by brothers Rihachi and Rizo Mizuno, the brand started life as ‘Mizuno Brothers, Ltd’. It’s gone on to manufacture sports goods and accessories for a range of sports including baseball, badminton, table tennis and swimming - and, of course, golf. And here’s a little-known fact for you - to celebrate 30 years in business the company even started manufacturing military-design gliders including the Mizuno MXZ1 - a training glider.
The secret to the success of Mizuno’s golf clubs lies in their meticulous approach to craftsmanship. The manufacturing process uses traditional Japanese precision techniques, blended with the latest cutting-edge technology to deliver outstanding performance and durability. Mizuno’s Research and Development team are constantly forging ahead, looking for innovative ways to create golf clubs that deliver optimal performance, distance and forgiveness. From used Mizuno drivers through to irons and hybrids, at golfclubs4cash we’ve got an amazing range of second hand Mizuno golf equipment for you to try out for size.

Over the past few years, Mizuno has been actively demonstrating its growing commitment to the planet and its people. Their sustainability and social responsibility initiatives include using more sustainable materials, and ensuring that their manufacturing processes are as eco-friendly as possible. The brand also supports golf charities and community projects.
Each golf brand attracts loyal customers for different reasons, and in Mizuno’s case it’s their reputation for exceptional precision, quality and performance that sets the brand apart. It’s a name that golfers trust to produce great quality golf clubs that feel great and perform well on the course.
Tiger Woods is a big admirer of the brand, and used to regularly carry Mizuno golf clubs in his bag including the Mizuno MP14 irons. He won his first Masters Tournament in 1997 with Mizuno clubs, and although he later signed a deal with Titleist, he remains a big fan of Mizuno even so.
At golfclubs4cash, customers love our huge range of second hand Mizuno golf clubs at unbeatable prices. With over 40,000 happy customers rating us 5* on Trustpilot, we’re the name you can trust when it comes to sourcing top-quality used Mizuno golf clubs that’ll take your game to new heights.
