Which irons have won on tour so far! (as of 04/07/2025)
This golf season we have had 22 different winners on the PGA Tour and the Majors. In this blog we have figured out which irons they used (main or largest combination of irons) and some stats from some of the wins on tour when playing with the irons in question.
We’ll go brand by brand with the lowest number of winners to the highest number of winners.

Mizuno
Mizuno
Mizuno only has two wins on tour with a golfers main irons which happens to be Ben Griffin’s use of the Mizuno PRO S3 when he won at the Charles Schwab Challenge and his other win coming at the 2025 Zurich Classic of New Orleans where he teamed up with Andrew Novak who also features in the list below with golf brand Srixon.

Mizuno Pro S3 Irons
Mizuno’s reputation holds up. The Pro S3 irons feel solid and satisfying at impact. They’re not quite as soft and buttery as the TaylorMade P770s, but they do offer a firmer, more “punchy” feedback that some players might actually prefer. One thing is for sure: when you hit it poorly, you know about it! That kind of feedback is ideal for players who like to refine their ball-striking.

At the Charles Schwab Challenge he managed to gain 3.51 strokes compared to the field in his approach play.

It may be slightly surprising to see Callaway with only two wins this year from Min Woo Lee and Thomas Detry both using some form of APEX irons but that doesn’t mean that Callaway isn’t a great iron brand. In fact the Callaway Apex TCB irons were used by Xander Schauffele to win two major championships: the PGA Championship and the Open Championship

The Apex range is aimed at low single figure handicappers and elite players who are good ball strikers looking for an iron that offers shot shaping ability.
Min Woo Lee’s Victory Stats:
Gained 4 strokes over competitors in each of the first three rounds before dropping down to 1.35 strokes gained for the final round which helped him shoot 260 for the 4 days and earned him a PGA Tour Victory at the Texas Children's Houston Open.
Thomas Detry Victory Stats:
Each day of the tournament he gained at least 1.80 strokes from his approach play which allowed him to rip apart his fellow golfers and win the WM Phoenix Open by 7 shots.

PING
PING and TaylorMade are both tied with the same amount of golfers with wins but we’ve took two facts into consideration when ranking TaylorMade ahead of PING and that’s because:
TaylorMade golfers won with three different types of irons to PINGs two.
TaylorMade golfers also account for seven wins on the PGA Tour and Majors opposed to PING’s three PGA tour wins.

The Ping i210 irons feature an activated elastomer insert which creates 25% more face contact, ensuring a pure feel at impact while also returning more energy to the ball. Arguably the biggest brand in golf and the performance shows, Rory Mcilroy and Scottie Scheffler have won three times this season including a major each (who could forget the scenes when Rory won The Masters and completed the career grand slam) and Karl Vilps also chips in respectively with one win in Puerto Rico.
This is where TaylorMade differs a little from the rest of the competition as the irons used by Rory are prototype irons that have been custom built and tailored to him specifically and scottie’s designed by Tiger Woods are notoriously hard to play with but they are doing something right with their six combined with Vilps’ one making it 7 wins on tour for TaylorMade.

So far this year Titleist have been flying with iron wins with one particular set and it’s the Titleist T100 that has been the dominant set so far producing wins for six different players although they just miss out on top place in the entire rankings in our opinion.

It’s been a massive year for Srixon irons so far this year and JJ Spaun’s win at Oakmont was the icing on the cake. So far three models of their irons have won on the PGA Tour or Majors and altogether they have amassed a total of eight wins so far this season. They have always been a great brand especially in the Irons department but their new line of Irons the ZXi7’s have been the showstopper for them this year.
