Wyndham Clark successfully held off some of the world’s best to claim his first major victory a couple years ago. The then 29-year-old produced a stellar display over Los Angeles Country Club, punctuated with a classy two-putt on the 72nd hole to wrap up a one-shot victory. 

The putter Clark employed was his strongest suit throughout the week. Over the four rounds he gained strokes on the field in every category, but a gain of 1.81 strokes with the flatstick was where he picked up the most.

That, coupled with hitting 69% of greens over the challenging layout at Los Angeles Country Club was a recipe for success for the man from Denver, Colorado.

At the top end of the bag, things were firing too. Clark averaged 325 yards off the tee, while hitting 71% of LACC’s fairways.

In the bag, Clark had a mix of brands, as well as some new and some slightly older gear. The Titleist TSi3 driver he used was key to his impressive power fades, while the almost ten-year-old Odyssey Jailbird Versa putter proved invaluable.

Bryson DeChambeau also later this month on the 17th is competing alongside Brooks Koepka against Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler in a match dubbed "The Match" which will be a highly contested round of golf which sees the LIV breakaway stars vs the current stars of the PGA in what some might call a grudge match.
