Brysons winning bag | 2024 US Open

Bryson DeChambeau captured his 2nd U.S. Open Championship, doing so in dramatic fashion. After entering the day leading by 3, DeChambeau found himself trailing by as many as two strokes on the back 9. He would rally back to draw even with Rory McIlroy and then DeChambeau’s opportunity for the win opened up at 18. After McIlroy missed a short par putt, Bryson needed just a par to win. His tee shot found the native area, giving him limited options for his 2nd shot. He opted to punch it up into the front bunker on 18, which hadn’t been kind to the players all week. It was no problem for golf’s most entertaining golfer as DeChambeau made one of the greatest up-and-down’s in U.S. Open history to capture the title at Pinehurst No. 2.

Bryson is known as Golf’s Mad Scientist and his club choices live up to that reputation as he has probably the most interesting WITB in the world. Will these odd clubs do it again this year?

KRANK is known for their Long Drive Drivers, having won 26 World Long Drive Championships. he led the U.S. Open in driving distance, averaging 337.9 yards off the tee, 27 yards longer than the tournament average. That distance helped DeChambeau finish 4th in Strokes Gained Off The Tee

Trailing by 2 heading to the driveable par 4 13th, DeChambeau used one of his woods off the tee and found the green. While he didn’t make his eagle putt, the birdie and a subsequent McIlroy bogey brought Dechambeau back into a tie for the lead.

Irons: Avoda Prototypes (5-PW, LA Golf prototype shafts)

These 3-D printed Irons are single-length, and the faces feature a bulge to them, similar to fairway woods, that gives them more forgiveness. They were working well for Bryson. He hit 47 of 72 greens, which was tied for 7th best in the tournament, and finished 13th in Strokes Gained Approach

Wedge: Ping Glide 4.0 (45˚, 50˚, 56˚, 60˚)

Wedge: Ping Glide 4.0 (45˚, 50˚, 56˚, 60˚)

He plays PING Glide 4.0’s, though they still have their own Bryson touch to them with each having his LA Golf shafts in them. With his length, Bryon is able to play his wedges from all over the course, and they were integral to his approach numbers, but they were even better around the greens. DeChambeau gained 1.07 strokes on the field around the green, 10th best in the tournament.

Putter: SIK Pro C-Series Armlock

putting is what will make or break your tournament. For Bryson, he was great on the greens. He finished 10th in the field in total putts, and his 1.72 putts per hole average was 0.14 strokes better than average.
