The history of Benross Golf
Based in Weybridge, Surrey, UK, Benross came into existence relatively recently compared to some of the more established golf brands. In 1997, its founder Jon Everitt wanted to create an ambitious brand with international growth in its sights. Everitt set out to create a golf brand for the everyday golfer that was affordable, but with no compromise on quality and using only the best engineering and parts.
Steady growth followed, and International Leisure Brands Ltd clearly took notice, acquiring the business in 2019. However, the philosophy of affordable, high-performance golf equipment at attractive price tags remains at the core of this brand to this day, and Benross is still committed to keeping the everyday golfer’s needs at the heart of all its decisions.
Where it’s going next
There’s no doubt that Benross continues to be a brand to keep an eye on. In 2019, it announced that it had secured a £2m refinancing deal with an investment firm, with the aim of expanding into Europe and beyond. It’ll likely keep its focus on serving the needs of beginner to intermediate golfers, but who knows – maybe we might see professional players teeing off at the biggest golfing tournaments with a Benross driver in the future?
Benross doesn’t just manufacture golf clubs, either. The brand also supplies golf bags, gloves, clothing and accessories as part of its collection, and we anticipate this growing as the brand develops.
At golfclubs4cash we’ve always got a great selection of second-hand Benross golf clubs including irons, hybrids and wedges on offer, as well as used Benross drivers. If you’re a mid-to-high handicapper and you haven’t experimented with a Benross golf club, then we suggest you try!
