2022 sees us celebrate our 10th anniversary of buying, selling and trading top quality used golf equipment, and we’ve come a long way in those ten years. Read on to find out where it all began, and where we’re heading next.

The very beginning...

Co-founder of golfclubs4cash, Murray Winton, comes from a golfing family and grew up playing the sport. When his first set of golf clubs were stolen from his locker, he quickly became a second hand golf club expert, buying and selling on eBay. Spotting a clear gap in the market, he teamed up with friend and colleague Martin Lambert to create golfclubs4cash, offering affordability, upgrades and professional advice to golfers at every level of the game.

And so, in 2012, golfclubs4cash was born - a multichannel outlet buying, selling and part-exchanging golf club sets in the UK and Europe via eBay.

The next level

Business went from strength to strength as word about the company’s range and expertise spread throughout the golfing community. Winton and Lambert focused on ensuring the transaction process was transparent, straightforward and professional, designing a service that was slick from initial enquiry through to delivery. Key to this was developing a robust Returns Policy with a 30 day money back guarantee so that customers could buy with complete confidence.

Through eBay, their own website and their physical premises in Edinburgh, sales continued to go through the roof. The more the company took off, the more space was needed to house the growing stock - and expansion was inevitable. What started as a small eBay shop operating from Murray’s house had transformed into a high street store and multiple warehouses throughout Edinburgh.

Plenty of time and effort went into refining the business model, tweaking and adjusting along the way to ensure that the very best in price, choice and service was on offer to golfers at every level of their golfing journey.

And where we are today

The combination of market saturation, increased demand for golf equipment (driven in no small measure by the pandemic) and a growing interest in recycling and reusing products has only seen to build on golfclub4cash’s successes further. Today, golfclubs4cash still offers an online and an in-person service, and continues to host regular trade-in events, too. We’re also open to PGA Pros and retailers who love our valuation and collection service for individual clubs and end of line stock. That means you could even be lucky enough to find a tour-standard golf club hidden among the rest.
