We sell a fantastic range of Srixon golf clubs, but our customers are often surprised to learn that Srixon is part of a wider sports equipment family. Perhaps most known for its golf balls (with the highest number of golf ball patents held worldwide), Srixon is a brand that’s synonymous with golfing expertise, and its clubs are in steady demand from golfclubs4cash customers looking for second hand golf club bargains.
Srixon is owned by SRI Sports Ltd (a subsidiary of Sumitomo Rubber Industries Ltd), who in 2017 also acquired Cleveland Golf. SRI Sports also owns Dunlop Sports, under which umbrella sits Srixon, Cleveland, XXIO, and Dunlop Racket Sports. Srixon is a registered trademark of Dunlop Sports Co. Ltd.
Brand Focus: Srixon
WHAT DOES SRIXON MEAN?
People often wonder where the name Srixon originates from. Well, the SRI is from SRI Sports Ltd, and the ‘on’ is said to be short for ‘onwards’. The ‘x’ in the middle just serves as a bridge between the two!
WHERE IS SRIXON BASED?
Despite its Japanese origins, Srixon is now based in Huntington Beach, California. But earlier in 2023 it was announced that the European subsidiary of the Srixon group will be headquartered in Ash Vale, Southwest London, to pursue the growth of Srixon, Cleveland Golf and XXIO. So we’re expecting to see a lot more of these brands in the coming months, years and decades as they build their European profile further.
WHICH FAMOUS GOLFERS ARE LINKED WITH SRIXON?
It’s not uncommon to spot Srixon golf balls in play at all the major tournaments, and beyond this, you’ll see some big names playing with Srixon golf clubs and accessories. Tour players that have been linked to Srixon over the years include 2019 Open Champion Shane Lowry, Hannah Green, Hideki Matsuyama, Graeme McDowell and Ryan Fox.
WHICH GOLF CLUBS ARE SRIXON FAMOUS FOR?
Srixon designs and manufactures a full range of golf clubs, from drivers and fairways through to irons and hybrids. The brand is less well-known for its wedges and putters, with Cleveland covering this end of the market more comprehensively. In particular, Srixon’s ZX4 irons are known to be one of the most forgiving sets of irons on the market, and they’re a firm favourite with golfclubs4cash customers.
With quality materials and precision engineering coming as standard, Srixon is a great choice for mid to high handicappers looking to finesse their game. It is also a fantastic choice for lower handicappers who are looking for extra forgiveness and increased distance.
