What’s the difference between a pencil bag and a carry bag?
Pencil bags fall under the carry bag category, with the only difference being that the slimmest of the carry bags are also called pencil bags. These are the lightest carry bags that you can easily pop over one shoulder.
What’s the difference between a tour bag and a staff bag?
Nothing at all, it’s just two different names for the same thing. You can find out more about the different types of golf bags in our buyers’ guide to golf bags.
What about trolley bags?
A trolley bag is another name for a cart bag, so it’s generally heavier than a carry bag. We know – it gets confusing doesn’t it?! But again, our buyers’ guide will help you figure out what’s what.
I like to walk around the course, but sometimes I ride instead. Which is the best golf bag for me?
Your ideal golf bag would be a stand bag. These are designed to be smaller and lighter than cart bags so you can carry them easily. And they have sprung legs for propping up the bag when needed. The legs are made from a light material like carbon fibre so that they don’t add too much weight to the bag.
